Lupita Nyong’o has acquired a cat to keep her company as she heals from heartache caused by her recent break up.
Lupita Nyong’o, the talented 40-year-old actress known for her powerful performances in films like “12 Years a Slave” and “Black Panther,” has made an addition to her life following a recent personal transition. In an Instagram post, Nyong’o shared her newfound joy with her fans,her newly adopted cat, Yoyo.
The announcement of her adoption was filled with a sense of renewal and change as Nyong’o, who had previously admitted to being afraid of cats, took the leap into pet parenthood. 
While she didn’t explicitly mention it, her reference to a recent life-altering experience suggests that her split from her boyfriend, Selema Masekela, played a part in this decision.
Nyong’o’s journey to becoming a cat owner began with the guidance of a friend who assisted her in navigating the process of adopting a feline companion.
The actress decided to initially foster Yoyo, which is a common approach for people who are unsure about full-time pet ownership. However, it didn’t take long for Yoyo to work his way into Nyong’o’s heart, Kenyareports.com can argue.
“I never understood people whose phones were full of photos and videos of their pets – now I am one of those people!” Lupita Nyong’o wrote.
“It may look like I saved Yoyo, but really, Yoyo is saving me.” She says further.
