Kikuyu singer Muigai wa Njoroge has come out to set the record straight on claims he was gifted a Prado by late First Lady Lucy Kibaki.
Muigai addressed the allegation after a social media user condemned him for betraying Kikuyu people.
The Facebook user claimed Muigai was gifted a Prado for being an ambassador for Mt Kenya people but has now betrayed his tribesmen and women.
Controversial musician Muigai wa Njoroge used to be a big supporter of president Uhuru Kenyatta but right now he is arguably his biggest critic, firing salvos at the head of state at will.
Muigai wa Njoroge fell out with Uhuru following his March 15th 2018 handshake with former premier Raila Odinga which he blames for causing a rift between the president and his deputy William Ruto.
The controversial singer has been using metaphors in his songs to criticize Uhuru for ‘dumping’ Ruto, embracing Raila.
His fierce criticisms of Uhuru have led to allegations that he is being funded by Ruto to demonize the president to his music fans.
Responding to claim that Lucy Kibaki gifted him a Prado for being an ambassador for Mt Kenya, Muigai wa Njoroge stated that he never even met the late First Lady in person.
He added that he buys his own cars in cash and sometimes with loans.
“Why are you lying to people? I have never met or even greeted late president Kibaki and his wife Lucy Kibaki. I buy my own cars using cash and others with loan money. Why must you lie to people?” Muigai wa Njoroge wrote.
