Kenya’s Richest Sports Personalities And Their Net Worth

Sports personalities are one of the best-paid individuals in the world. They not only get their huge salaries from their sports but also various endorsements from various brands including sportswear brands such as Nike, Adidas, Reebok, and Umbro among others.

With the good money they get from sports, some Kenyan sportspeople have managed to put their money to good use and have become even wealthier. Here are some of the sports personalities who are filthy rich, courtesy of their talents

Eliud Kipchoge 

Though humble from appearance, Kenya’s long-distance runner is one of the richest sports personalities in Kenya. Eliud Kipchoge is estimated to be worth $3 million.

The Olympic Marathon champion is said to have accumulated this wealth from winning prices he gets from the races and from various endorsements he has. Kipchoge endorsement with various companies including Nike, Isuzu, Ineos, Maurten, and NN Group among others.

David Rudisha

Rudisha is the first and only human to run under 1:41 in an 800 meters race. The two-time Olympic champion is estimated to be worth $1million.

Boniface Ambani

Other than being a professional footballer, Ambani was also an accountant by profession. After hanging his boots, The former Tusker player ventured into business. He started Bochend Sports Company, a sport kitting company dealing with sports merchandise. It is this company that supplies kits for several football clubs including Chemelil Sugar, Zoo Kericho, AFC Leopards, and Posta Rangers among others.

Ambani also supplies kits to General Service Unit (GSU) and Prison Kenya Volleyball teams through the kit company.

Ambani is said to have collected between $1 million and $8 million from both his business and football career.

Julius Yego

Yulius Yego is the first Kenyan to win the Commonwealth Games gold medal. The track and field athlete is estimated to be worth $1 million thanks to various endorsements he got from YouTube and Orange (mobile service provider) among others.

Allan Wanga

Allan Wanga recently hanged his boots from footballs after several years of playing. The former Kakamega Homeboyz forwards reportedly owns a house, a rent-car fleet, a fitness center, and an entertainment joint in Rongai.

Wanga who currently works at the Kakamega County offices is said to be worth $1 Million – $5 Million.

Victor Wanyama 

Just like his brother MacDonald Mariga, Victor Wanyama is arguably one of the most successful sportsmen in Kenya. The former Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield is reportedly worth $15 million with an annual salary that can go up to $$3,091,667.

Apart from owning a beautiful home in Nairobi’s posh estate of Kileleshwa, the CF Montreal captain owns a fleet of expensive cars including Volkswagen Crafter CR53 Maxi, Hummer H3, Mercedes C250, and Lexus LX570 among others.

Catherine Ndereba

The list couldn’t have been complete without Kenya’s female marathon legend who won the World Championships in Athletics twice.

The four-time winner of the Boston Marathon is reportedly worth between 1-5 million dollars.
