Karen Nyamu found herself in trouble after her recent trip to Lodwar in Turkana county.
During her stay in Lodwar, Karen Nyamu rubbed shoulders with rising singer Queen Dillah.
The UDA-nominated senator shared on her social media accounts a selfie she took with the budding musician.
In a recent tour of Turkana Lodwar, Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu snapped a selfie with aspiring singer Queen Dillah, turning a moment of camaraderie into a legal dispute.
“Niko patrol. Sasa aka na vile ni kadogo ati ni mbogi ya aluta. Aki kanairo mutajua mujui. We will not create party zombies!” Karen Nyamu captioned the post.
Nyamu’s caption implicated Queen Dillah as a negative example which prompted her to seek legal redress.
Dillah perceived Karen Nyamu’s caption as a defamation of character, tarnishing her brand.
The Lodwar-based musician through her lawyer issued a demand letter, asserting the post’s defamatory nature and the harm it caused to her reputation.
In the demand letter, Dillah lamented that despite efforts to have Nyamu take down the post she refused to do so.
She further claimed that her parent’s disapproval of the image forced her out of their home.
The legal correspondence demanded an unqualified apology from Karen Nyamu, to be issued on the same platforms where the contentious image was shared.
However, Nyamu remains adamant, refusing to delete the post and insisting it was shared with good intentions.
In an interview, senator expressed surprise at Queen Dillah’s change of stance, recalling that the singer initially thanked her for the visibility the post brought to her career.
Karen Nyamu speculated that external influences prompted the legal action, suggesting that Queen Dillah might be seeking monetary compensation.
