Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni visited Sirisia MP JOhn Waluke at the Industrial Area Remand Prison after which he reported on how he is faring in jail.
Waluke was shipped to prison after High Court on October 6, 2022, dismissed his appeal in a graft case that saw him sentenced to 40 years.
The Sirisia MP and his business partner Grace Wakhungu were jailed for more than 40 years each but were granted the option of paying fines in excess of Ksh1 billion each after they were found guilty of fraudulently receiving money from the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) for maize which was never supplied.
Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni revealed that Waluke will be back in court on November 2 as he launched appeal challenging his sentence.
The former Ndaragwa MP further noted that Waluke was in high spirits when he visited him in prison.
“Today, I paid a visit to Hon. John Waluke, Member of Parliament, Sirisia Constituency at the Industrial Area Remand Prison. I was glad to see him in great spirits. He will be going back to court on 2nd November 2022. We hope and pray Haki Iwe Ngao na Mlinzi,” Kioni wrote on his Facebook page.
