Comedian and radio presenter Jalang’o has revealed that it was not easy for him to finally be in a relationship with his wife Amina Chao.
Jalang’o said that his wife rejected him at first when he made his move and it was not because she had not fallen for him but it was because he wanted him to prove his love for her.
“My wife had rejected me, she wanted me to prove if I really loved her. She wanted to know what effort I can put in to win this beautiful woman,” the comedian said.
He further said that Amina’s rejection almost made him give up on chasing her.
“At the time she was in USIU, I would pick her up at the office and drop her at school and wait for her mpaka amalize classes. She had her car but she would want me to pick her up. I would drop her, wait for her and beg her, I almost gave up. I would sit at the basketball court parking lot and beg her,” Jalang’o said.
The radio presenter went on to explain that rejection can cause a man to question his self worth.
“Rejection is the lowest heat a man can go through. He starts questioning himself. We have had people who can work with rejection. These people understand you can love and not be loved. That you can be accepted or rejected, it’s part of life. If a woman says no, it is a no,” he said.
He further opened up about an incident where he had to stalk an ex for him to finally agree that he had been dumped.
“When I was rejected by my ex I stalked her until I accepted she did not want me. I was young and stupid then,” Jalang’o revealed.
Jalang’o and Amina have two children.
He was speaking during the Kiss FM breakfast show which he co-host with Kamene Goro.
