“I Didn’t Know He Was Gay” American Adoptive Father Of Slain LGBTQ Activist Edwin Chiloba Tells Court

Court is hearing murder case of Edwin Chiloba, LGBTQ activist who was killed and his body stuffed in a metallic box before it was dumped on a road in Eldoret.

Chiloba’s lifeless body was found on 3 January 2023. Police said he had been strangled.

Government pathologist Johansen Oduor told journalists a post-mortem examination found Chiloba died of asphyxia, with socks stuffed in his mouth and a piece of his jeans tied around his nose and mouth.

Chiloba’s gay lover Jacktone Odhiambo is the main suspect in his death. The case is ongoing at the Eldoret Law Court.

On November 23, 2023, Chiloba’s American adoptive father Peter Pfaltzgraff testified against Jacktone Odhiambo.

Peter Pfantzgraff, whose missionary work is based in Mumias town, Kakamega County,  told the court that he did not know the other side of the late LGBTQ activist.

He told Justice Reuben Nyakundi that Chiloba had not told him that he was gay and that he introduced Jacktone as a friend when he visited him in Mumias together with the accused.

Pfantzgraff recounted how he and his wife used to invite Chiloba to their Mumias home during the December holidays.

The missionary said that on December 23, 2022, Chiloba visited him accompanied by Jacktone whom he introduced as a friend.

Peter Pfaltzgraff and his wife Donna were the spiritual parents of Chiloba and also paid for his studies in University.

The American family has adopted a number of young people who work with them on matters of Christianity.

The Pfaltzgraffs run a church called Grace and Faith Family Ministry and according to them, their message is that God loves all people.
