Huddah Monroe is fed up with the constant pressure to start a family.
In a series of fiery Instastories on August 22, 2024, Huddah didn’t hold back as she blasted those who won’t stop asking when she’s planning to have kids.
“Once you land back home, first things first is Utazaa lini! As if kuna order somewhere. Digithia!” Huddah vented, clearly irritated by the relentless questioning the moment she touches down in Kenya.
But it doesn’t stop there—Huddah revealed that these baby-obsessed individuals even want to play matchmaker, praying for her to find a husband and have children because, in their eyes, that’s the only purpose for a woman.
“They even want to pray for me to have a baby and a husband; they say that is the purpose of a female gender, God Abeg,” she added, shutting down the outdated mindset.
Back in 2019, Huddah showed her softer side when she opened up about adopting a child whose parents couldn’t afford her school fees.
During an interview in Tanzania, Huddah explained how she stepped in to help the young girl after realizing just how much she wanted to go to school.
“I love children so much, and I have my foundation, Huddah Foundation, and half of the money I get from Huddah Cosmetics goes to the foundation to help children who are disabled,” she shared.
She didn’t stop there, detailing her decision to adopt the girl.
“Nilimuadopt mtoto because most of the time I feel like watoto kwa hii dunia hakuna kitu wanajua so they are very fragile. Nilikuwa naona wazazi wake huyu mtoto hawakuwa wanaweza kuafford kumpeleka shule, so kila siku nilikuwa namuuliza huyu mtoto do you want to go to school? Nilikuwa namuona yaani ni dream yake sana she really wanted to go to school. So nikamchukua tu bado ako na mamake lakini, I still pay for the school and stuff like that.”
Huddah is clearly making her own rules, focusing on her business while refusing to bow to societal pressures.
The petite socialite in June 2022 narrated how she got married at the age of 19 and that her marriage lasted for four years.
She did not have any kids with her ex-husband.
