Judy Nyawira-Mutua just dropped some major tea on why she and her hubby, actor and screenwriter Abel Mutua, aren’t using any form of family planning despite deciding they don’t want any more kids!
In a recent tell-all, the content creator revealed they’ve been relying on the pull-out method to keep things baby-free after having their 14-year-old daughter, Mumbua.
“I’m not on any family planning method. We’re just really good at withdrawal… you know what I mean,” Judy laughed.
She even joked that it’s like “withdrawing money from an Mpesa shop” — that’s how smooth they’ve gotten with it! And get this: her doctor straight-up told her that this can’t really be classified as family planning!
Before they went all-in on their ‘Mpesa method’, Judy tried out a couple of more traditional birth control methods, but they were a total nightmare.
She shared that she was on Jadelle for three years, but it had her bleeding almost all month long!
“I had to ditch it because I was bleeding three-quarters of the month,” she explained.
That didn’t work out either — too much discomfort, so she had that removed too.
Now, in case you were wondering, health experts don’t exactly endorse the pull-out method as legit contraception — there’s a one-in-five chance of getting pregnant if you’re not pairing it with something more reliable. But hey, Judy’s rolling with it and seems totally confident!
As for why they’ve chosen to stick with just one kid? Abel’s got his reasons! He’s all about making sure their daughter has everything she needs without the extra pressure of another mouth to feed.
The couple’s been together for 15 years and married for seven, but Judy’s quick to let everyone know that it hasn’t always been smooth sailing.
“Marriage is hard, y’all. Beautiful, but tough as hell,” she dished.
And yeah, there have been days when neither of them could even look at the other! The secret to their long-lasting relationship? Staying besties first and foremost. That’s what’s kept their spark alive all these years.
