Bishop Allan Kiuna Dies At 62 After Spending Ksh459 Million On Cancer Treatment

Bishop Allan Kiuna, the co-founder and senior pastor of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) in Nairobi, has passed away at the age of 62 after a prolonged battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer.

His death marks the end of an era for one of Kenya’s most prominent religious leaders.

Bishop Kiuna’s health struggles began in late 2022, prompting him to seek medical care in the United States.

Despite the severity of his illness, he returned to Kenya in 2023 with an optimistic declaration that he was cancer-free, attributing his recovery to divine intervention.

During a Thanksgiving ceremony, Bishop Kiuna revealed that his treatment costs had surpassed $3 million, approximately Ksh459,900,000 million, all of which he said were miraculously provided.

“For the one year that I was in the US, my treatment cost $3 million, and I didn’t remove one coin from my pocket because the God of heaven provided. I did not call anyone,” he told his congregation, who responded with cheers.

Bishop Kiuna first publicly acknowledged his cancer diagnosis in 2019, sharing his journey of faith and resilience with his followers. His openness about his health battles and his unwavering faith endeared him to many within and beyond his congregation.

Born in Kenya, Bishop Kiuna, along with his wife, Bishop Kathy Kiuna, established JCC in January 1999. The church rapidly grew under their leadership, becoming a cornerstone of spiritual life for thousands of worshippers and extending its influence globally.

Bishop Kiuna is survived by his wife, Kathy, and their three children: Vanessa, Jeremy, and Stephanie. The couple celebrated over 30 years of marriage, during which they dedicated their lives to their faith and community.

Bishop Kiuna’s death is a significant loss to the JCC community and the broader religious landscape in Kenya.

His legacy of faith, resilience, and leadership will continue to inspire those who knew him and those who were touched by his ministry.
