Bahati Warns Kenyans About Maandamano After Visiting Kigali Genocide Memorial

“I might not have succeeded as a politician but I will tell you some plain truth,” Bahati said.

Bahati was in Rwanda when the bloody demonstrations were held across the country on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

At least 10 people were shot dead during the anti-government demos while dozens others were injured.

Bahati took it upon himself to warn Kenyans about the danger of the protests quickly escalating into a civil war like it happened in Rwanda.

The singer’s warning came after he visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial – a place of remembrance and learning dedicated to the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

“JUST FROM WATCHING THE NEWS ON MAANDAMANO and I Felt Like Saying Something… Before Reading this I would request you to take a Second and Watch this Short Video that I had Kept to Myself when I visited The Rwanda Genocide Memorial Rwanda 🇷🇼 Very Heart Breaking indeed 💔 It was Like a Bad Dream ; Rwanda Lost Over 1 Million People in less than a hundred Days Just Because of Tribalism and Political Incitement 😭 This was one of my hardest Moments in Rwanda, visiting the mass graves and listening to the Stories of how Blood was shed and Property Destroyed!

“Dear My Country People of Kenya 🇰🇪 it all begins like this… We were loosing it in the year 2007 but God had Mercy on us; Let’s learn from Our Neighbours Rwanda and especially what happened to us during the post Election Violence in 2007. Yes we all have a right to express ourselves but let’s not use that opportunity to fight one another, let’s not use it to shed blood, let’s not destroy your fellow poor man’s property in the name of Maandamano.

“I might not have succeeded as a Politician but I will tell you some plain Truth… NO SINGLE POLITICIAN can die for you so you should not die for any! And if Civil War Starts Today in Kenya this Politians will Take the First Flight Wakimbilie Majuu… The Mama Mboga you’re stealing from ndio utakopa Sukuma Kwake Economy ikiumana. I Pray for strength to all Families who have lost their Loved ones Today and to my Fellow Youths being Used in this Protests; May God Protect You as you try to do it in a Peaceful way according to the Law without Destroying your Neighbours Property 🙏

“We are The Leaders of Tomorrow… so if We Loose our Youths To Gun shots Today Clearly there’s No Tomorrow! May Peace and Unity Prevail in Jesus Name 🙏 I LOVE YOU MY MOTHER LAND KENYA 🇰🇪,” Bahati wrote.
