Bahati and Diana Marua were denied a chance of renting a posh house even when they could afford the rent.
Sharing their experience with celebrity couples Wajesus, Milly Chebby and Terrence, Bahati and Diana said that the property’s landlord felt they were too young to afford the rent for his expensive house.
The couple further said most agencies, landlords and homeowners felt they approached seeking a rental house felt they would default or not be able to afford a house in posh estates.
“After two days we were told they could not give us the house because we could not afford and we would be bringing parties in the house given our age,” Diana said.
Bahati added that the landlords felt that adding some personal touch to the house they rented was spoiling it.
The singer gifted his wife a Ksh27.5 million fully furnished mansion on Valentine’s Day 2022.
Diana and Bahati’s fully furnished mansion is located at Kamakis along Eastern bypass in Ruiru, Kiambu county.
The 4-bedroom mansion, which sits on a 50 by 100 plot of land, is among houses built by a real estate company which have been put them up for sale.
Questions were asked if indeed Bahati and Diana really own the mansion or they were just advertising it as the couple took long to move in.
They moved into the house in March.
