American TikToker Isaiah Carrier aka Baba Jimmy and his Kenyan wife Mama Jimmy relocated to America mid this years together with their two children.
The couple who went viral because of their Luhya accent, especially Baba Jimmy who is white, have been sharing their day to day experiences of living in America on social media.
Their relocation has however raised questions on whether Mama Jimmy encounters racism because of her skin color.
In a YouTube video, the couple however said that they have never witnessed such.
“From how I have lived with mama Jimmy, we’ve been to many places we have never experienced,” Baba Jimmy said.
“I have only heard about it. I meet a lot of people and they greet me and are happy to see me. Some compliment me over my outfits. I would be lying if I say I have encountered racism,” Mama Jimmy agreed with him.
Baba Jimmy also received a question on how parents reacted when he chose to marry a Kenyan woman.
“We have lived in Kenya for many years. My father was a missionary in Kenya and I was young so I accompanied him. They love people in Kenya and they didn’t have any issues with me marrying a Kenyan woman,” he said, admitting that it is true there are people who dislike Africans as compared to Americans.
“Christianity is a very important,” he further said noting that with such a foundation, his parents wouldn’t mind even if his wife was from another world.
He added that his family loves Mama Jimmy and they still embrace her.
