“I Haven’t Slept With Any Man For 3 Years” Jackie Matubia Opens Up On Finding Strength In Celibacy After Painful Breakup

Actress Jackie Matubia recently opened up about her decision to embrace celibacy and focus on her own growth following a painful breakup with actor Blessing Lung’aho.

The two, once deeply committed and even engaged, share a child together.

However, the split led Matubia, now a single mother of two, to make some profound changes in her life.

Reflecting on the impact of the separation, Matubia admitted that the experience left her disillusioned with relationships, causing her to take a step back from dating and men altogether.

Choosing to prioritize her children and her business, she has been on a self-imposed celibacy journey for nearly three years, a choice she says has led to remarkable personal growth and empowerment.

“Since my breakup, I made the decision to avoid intimacy and focus solely on myself and my family. No man has shared that part of my life in three years, and it’s been an amazing experience,” Matubia revealed.

She went on to explain that staying single and celibate has helped her reconnect with herself and achieve a healthier mindset.

The actress also shared the emotional depth of her journey, explaining that she intentionally avoided common distractions, like alcohol, to genuinely process her feelings.

“I needed to feel every ounce of pain to heal fully,” she said, describing her journey as one rooted in confronting hard truths rather than masking them.

“For me to climb out of that dark place, I chose to face the pain head-on instead of covering it up with temporary relief.”

Matubia’s decision has ultimately allowed her to become, as she says, the best version of herself—for her own sake and for her children.

“The only person I needed to prove something to was my children. I wanted them to see that their mum is mentally and emotionally healthy to raise them. This choice has given me that peace,” she explained.

Her journey stands as a testament to her resilience, showing that sometimes the most transformative growth comes from within.
