After a long break on music, Avril has made a comeback in the entertainment industry.
The mother of one has been featured in a new series titled Faithless that will be aired on Showmax.
The Mimi na Wewe hitmaker opened up on the role she will playing.
“I play the role of Deborah on Faithless, She is a very timid young lady. She is spineless, to be very honest, a Very comical character. I love her character, It was very exciting to play her role,” she told a local blog.
The singer revealed that she landed the role after going for auditions. She also detailed why its important to audition for acting roles.
“I actually went for an audition. I was called for an audition and I was like okay. Are you sure I can be able to do this? We need a person who can be able to act and sing, at the same time. I was like okay, cool cool. So I went auditioned, with a couple of other people who were amazing as well, but I’m so happy and fortunate that I got the role,” she shared.
“Kusema tuu ukweli, auditions are very important because you get to know unlike music acting you are not yourself. You acting as someone else, so you have to be able to identify someone else, you have to be able to reveal someone else. If you are not able to do that, then you dont get the role. So auditions lazima,” Avril added.
She also revealed that she had auditioned for a separate show last week, but she is not sure if she will make it as she has not been casted yet.
