Ringtone Blasts Secular Musicians For Snubbing The Burial Of Mr Seed’s Mother

Gospel artist Ringtone Apoko has voiced his disappointment over the absence of secular artists at the funeral of Mr. Seed’s mother.

Ringtone specifically called out KRG the Don, questioning why he, despite often flaunting his wealth, did not make the effort to attend.

He suggested that KRG could have even used a helicopter to reach the funeral, emphasizing the lack of support from peers in the industry.

Additionally, Ringtone criticized other artists, including Cassypool, for their apparent indifference, despite their public personas.

He lamented the lack of solidarity among Kenyan artists, contrasting it with the support system seen in Tanzania, where artists come together in times of need.

“KRG pretends you have money, why wouldn’t you get a chopper to get here? Cassypool, you are talking Biashara Street, why can’t you support artists?” Apoko asked.

In a broader critique, Ringtone also mentioned well-known names such as Khaligraph Jones, Nadia Mukami, and the popular group Sauti Sol, pressing them to recognize their responsibility to stand by their peers in moments like these.

He pointed out the contrast between the Kenyan music scene and that of Tanzania, where artists frequently rally together to support one another during tough times.

“Kenyan artists must help each other and support each other…Secular artists, Khaligraph, Nadia, who…all of you..where are you?…Souti Sol, where are you?…Kenyan artists must start supporting each other, Tanzania something if it happens, you all see Kenya, we don’t stand together.” he added.

Mr. Seed’s mother, who passed away in August after a long battle with illness, was laid to rest in September in Siaya County.

Ringtone’s comments have sparked a debate about the local music industry’s culture and the importance of artist solidarity, as fans and fellow musicians alike reflect on the significance of community support during times of grief.
