Mumias East MP Peter Salasya eventually met with people from the short community, Rastafarian Stephen Bingi and Hillary, and promised to pay for their education.
The two admitted to have completed high school although they didn’t pass with flying colours. Bingi said he got a D plain while Hillary settled for a D+ in the 2022 KCSE.
“I will take you to a school for a short course,” Salasya said, adding that he will pay their rent for the 6 months that they will be schooling.
Salasya wants them to be equipped with skills so that they can eventually employ themselves.
For Bingi, he will be studying Electrical engineering while Hillary will pursue an ICT course. Salasya has already identified an institution that the duo will be going to.
Before taking them to a tertiary institution, he however wants to visit where they stay to assess their situation.
There was however a light moment when the MP questioned Bingi if he has a girlfriend and what her body size was.
“Wako Mhesh. Girlfriend ako, ni mbiggie, Bazzu Bazenga. Bora mi nicheze tu na rada. Ama unaona tu ni hivi hivi. Bado sijamuoa(Girlfriends are there. I have a girlfriend she is big. I have to play my part well. Don’t undermine be. We are yet to get married),” The Thika town resident said.
Salasya was however left wondering what Bingi was doing with a girlfriend.
“We love each other. We laugh and be happy like people do or what do you do with your girlfriend? We feel good,” he said.
“I want to know your girlfriend. If you bring me your girlfriend, I want to ask her some questions,” Salasya told him.
Bingi asked for his number so that the lawmaker can talk to his woman once he gets back home.
