The late Brian Chira’s grandma Esther Njeri has opened up on events that saw her ex husband decline to bury the content creator after his death in mid-March this year.
Njeri revealed that they were married for 30 years before their marriage fell apart, forcing her to go back to where she was born.
“I was also chased by my husband. I was married for 30 years but when my husband wanted to marry another second wife, he chased me away. I returned to my parent’s home. Since I left, the current wife is the sixth. They come as they go. Brian was chased by his grandfather several times. He told him to stay with his grandmother,” she narrated to Mungai Eve.
She admits that she never talks to the old man and when Chira died, she sought her daughter to intervene so that she could bury him in the land they bought together.
“I have never spoken to him since our separation even after Brian’s death. Many people went to him asking for space to burry Brian but I didn’t go. He told them there is no Brian’s grave there. We had lands, we worked hard and bought lots of lands. I sent my daughter Regina Chira to her father about the same and he told her that he can’t burry Brian. He added that he shouldn’t be associated with his burial. I don’t know why. We settled to burying Brian where I was born, there were no disputes with my brothers, and they gave me space to lay him to rest,” she said.
Days to Chira’s burial, the old man demanded for an apology from her so that he could grant Chira a resting place. This however could not push through because all was set for his burial at where she was born.
Njeri also said that she learnt that her grandson was positive through social media.
