Former Sol Generation artist Bensoul is standing firm in defense of his relationship with content creator Cindy Kipsang, who was once his ex-girlfriend Noni Gathoni’s best friend.
The couple went public with their romance earlier this year, sparking mixed reactions online.
Bensoul had been in a three-year relationship with Noni Gathoni, during which Cindy was a close friend and frequent companion to the couple.
Despite the public’s skepticism and accusations of betrayal, Bensoul insists that their love story is genuine and not a case of infidelity.
In response to critics who believe the relationship started behind Gathoni’s back, Bensoul maintains, “For us, we are not chasing clout or trying to raise our numbers just because we went public with our relationship. We are just living our lives truthfully and being there for each other. We are so deep in it (love) to the point that she interacts with my family and vice versa.”
The singer’s latest album, “The Party & The After Party,” features a track dedicated to Cindy called “Dancing in Daylight.”
Bensoul explains, “The song is ‘Dancing in Daylight’ because we had been dancing in the night long before people discovered about us. But definitely, the world is full of jealousy and evil. So many people are against our relationship, but nobody has an idea why we decided to do it. This is why I wrote that song to mark this new era and appreciate her. She means a lot to me; she has been a proper change in my life.”
Bensoul and Gathoni ended their relationship last year, with Bensoul citing the impossibility of continuing together.
Their time together was also marred by Bensoul’s secret affair with Tifanny Muikamba, which resulted in the birth of his child.
Despite the controversies, Bensoul remains committed to Cindy, focusing on their bond and disregarding the public condemnation.
“We are just living our lives truthfully and being there for each other,” he reiterates, confident in the strength of their relationship.
