In a stunning revelation, Kenyan actress and radio presenter Jacque Nyaminde, better known as Wilbroda, has shared a harrowing tale of deception at the hands of a Tanzanian man who pretended to be a wealthy and well-connected individual.
“He told me, ‘This is the car I want to buy, and you will be the one driving it. So, give me your car’,” Wilbroda revealed during a recent chat with Oga Obinna.
The man’s charm was so convincing that Wilbroda was swept off her feet, and she found herself falling head over heels in love.
He took her on a romantic escapade, showing her an expensive car worth Ksh8 billion and promising to buy it for her. Wilbroda was smitten, admitting that she was impressed by his grand gestures and lavish lifestyle.
“He said he was related to Mr Blue, and that I would meet him at Harmonize’s house,” she recounted. “He told me his house was by the beach and I believed him.”
However, the facade began to crumble when the man asked her to visit him at a hospital, claiming he was ill.
Wilbroda obliged, only to discover that he was not at a luxurious hospital as she had expected, but at a small clinic in Pipeline. It was then that she realized the truth: he was broke.
“I went to the hospital, which turned out to be a small clinic in Pipeline. He had been beaten up at a bar,” Wilbroda said. “That’s when I realized he didn’t have money.”
The actress also spoke about her experiences with men who are interested in her, revealing that many are younger men who are smitten with her.
Wilbroda confessed that while she appreciates their admiration, but she is not sure if she wants to get married.
She also shared her thoughts on relationships, saying that she prefers honesty and transparency in any partnership.
“I get approached a lot, but I am not sure I want marriage,” she said.
“There is a guy who has been pursuing me and wants a child. He has a huge crush on me, but I tell him I don’t want more children. He should find a younger woman.”
