Jackie Matubia has revealed that the bullying she went through because of her ex-husband drove her to take away her life and that of her child.
Speaking to Mungai Eve, the mother of two said that she began experiencing bullying during her days in Tahidi high, as she would reprimanded her for being naughty in the TV series, because people couldn’t differentiate real life and acting.
Bullying however took a toll on her during when people started targeting her because of her first marriage, and even dragging her firstborn child.
“It was something that you are used to. You are called names . It really affected me because at that point, you are used to being attacked as me and now you are being attacked because of what your spouse has done and then you child,” she opened up
The mother of two says that it got to appoint that she wanted to overdose herself and her child. Realizing that there would be no gain in the step, she decided to recollect herself.
“I remember there is a day..I even tried to.. I took medicine, I held my child, I was ready… because of bullying. Then I was like sasa nikienda mbinguni?I wanted to take away my life and my child’s life, my firstborn Zari. Nikajiuliza siku moja na sasa nikienda mbinguni, Mungu ataniuliza huyu binadamu mwenye si mimi, why are you worried, hebu ona shida zake . They are projecting shida zake kwako because you are there. I woke up just one day I was like..,” Matubia said.
According to her she would get pictures, Mpesa messages, HIV tests from women who were with her then husband.
“They will DM like you are posting your husband tulikuwa naye jana. Mimi ile kupigana nimepigana thank God zile siku social media wasn’t that strong. I was fighting until it got to a point I was like why? What is the reason?” Matubia said.
