“Mom, I Am Not Proud Of The Pain I’ve Caused You,” Akothee Writes An Open Apology To Her Mother

Akothee apologized to her mother for being a wayward daughter during her adolescent years.

The controversial singer has on multiple occasions narrated how she stressed her parents by fleeing home at a young age to get married.

Akothee got married to her first husband Jared Okello at the age of 13 when she was still a student in high school in Homa Bay County.

She got her first baby at the age of 14, and by 16 she had already delivered four kids. (One died shortly after delivery).

Akothee only went to finish high school after her marriage failed. Following her graduation from Mt Kenya University (MKU) on December 8, 2023, the singer took decided to write an open letter to her mother to apologize for being a wayward daughter during her adolescent years.

Dear Mom
, I DID OT AGAIN 💪
I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. I want to express the feelings that sometimes go unspoken. I am aware that my journey has been filled with mistakes, and I’ve caused you pain with my failed relationships and dysfunctional family situations.
I understand that I may not be the daughter you envisioned raising, but please know that I never anticipated these challenges. Life has a way of surprising and disappointing me, much like it has for you. The hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused you weigh heavily on my heart, and I want you to know that I feel it deeply.
Despite the struggles, I want to assure you that I am constantly working to lift myself from the falls. I don’t seek sympathy; I understand that life must go on. Every moment you feel a certain way, please know that I’ve experienced that emotion threefold before it reached your awareness.
Mom, I am not proud of the pain I’ve caused, but I am determined to keep moving forward. I don’t want to be a burden to you, and I strive not to be a disgrace to our community. Life is a journey, and I am committed to learning from my mistakes and growing stronger.
Your support means everything to me, and I appreciate your understanding as I navigate through life’s challenges. If there’s ever a need for a heart-to-heart conversation, I am here. I love you, Mom, and I am grateful for your resilience and love.
With love,
Esther Akoth Kokeyo
