Girl Suspected Of Killing Nairobi Hospital Finance Director Has A Criminal Past, Sat For KCPE At Approved School

Nearly two weeks have passed and police are clueless about where Ann Adhiambo alias Nut is hiding.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) released a CCTV footage that pinned Nut to the murder of Nairobi Hospital Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo.

Maigo was stabbed 25 times on the morning of Friday, September 15, 2023.

Detectives identified Nut, who is believed to be aged between 15-17 years, as a major suspect in the murder.

However, Nuts has evaded police since she was caught on CCTV escaping from Maigo’s house.

The fact that the minor has evaded police arrest for nearly two weeks has puzzled many including detectives who trying to dig out information about her.

Detectives are combing through swathes of Kibera slums in the hunt for the teenager.

The team traced friends and relatives of the girl as they tried to piece together her background.

They went to health facilities in an effort to find out if she sought any medical help after she was captured on camera falling on sharp razors wire fencing around the house Maigo lived as she escaped the scene.

DCI hinted the minor might have a criminal record or a mental problem after they revealed that she sat for her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) at Dagoretti Approved School between 2021 and 2022.

Detectives on Friday September 22, 2023, recovered clothes believed to have been worn by Nuts during the murder of Maigo.

The clothes a red checked shirt and a grey pair of animal-print pants were found in a semi-permanent wooden shack in Bombolulu village, deep inside the sprawling Kibera slums.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the murder suspect to report to the nearest police station.

Police raided her house following a tip-off but did not find her.

Detectives are also conducting an analysis of Maigo’s lifestyle as part of their probe.

“We are shocked he earned much but we found very little amount of money in his account. We don’t know if it has any link to the murder,” an official aware of the probe said.

Police arrested another woman in the probe into the murder of Maigo.

Cynthia Lusega Andalo was produced in court under miscellaneous application on Monday afternoon September 18 and police were allowed to hold her for five days as part of the probe into the murder.

The woman is among people who were last seen with Maigo on September 14.

She is expected in court on September 25 for mention of the matter.

Maigo will be buried at his Keumbu, Kisii rural home on September 29.
