From A Millionaire To A Deranged Beggar: How Polygamy Ruined The Life Of Nancy Moraa

It’s hard to believe that someone who was swimming in money could end up as a beggar – this is exactly what happened to Nancy Moraa.

Have you ever felt like you have reached the end of the road and nothing in life seems to be working in your favour? I know we have all been there at one point in life.

My name is Nancy Moraa, I was born and raised in Kitutu Chache North. Today I’m just grateful to God for being alive today considering what I have been through.

Well before everything went south my husband James Kimani and I had it all. He was in politics and I had a well-paying job in one of the ministries so I can say we were thriving both financially and in our marriage of 27 years during which we were blessed with 4 children who are all grown now.

All these years I was in pretty good terms with my in-laws. My Father-in-laws specifically was really fond of me, well I also got along with my mother-in-law just fine.

My world fell apart in 2019 when my father-in-law passed on. My husband and his mother teamed up to hatch a plan so that they can kick me out of our matrimonial home.

In their attempt, my husband sold all the property we owned, he even took a loan had the same house we lived in Lang’ata as collateral. I found out all this after coming back from a work trip but managed to settle the matter.

Fast-forward in March 2020 my husband finally decided it’s time to get a 2nd wife, Pamela Nekesa. He even bought her a new house here in Nairobi. As if that was not enough, I was kicked out of the company we had built together and he was now running it with his new wife.

My woes worsened when two of my children turned into alcoholics which made things more complicated but I still believed things will get better.

One day, six months later I got sick abruptly while in the office I had to be rushed to the hospital. I stayed in the hospital for a month and I got better after a powerful prayer session by one of the visiting pastors.

Few days later, my eldest son and his wife were involved in a tragic accident in Mombasa and they passed on. It’s never easy losing a child as a parent who was already struggling but we managed to give them a decent send off.

Two weeks later I started getting what I would call hallucinations. I would see Pamela trying to stab me in broad daylight and I would scream only that she was only visible to me.

My sister was always there but she couldn’t see a thing. That’s how everyone else knew I was losing it. It got worse to a point I had to be tied down to avoid harming myself and others.

My siblings took me from one hospital to another but there wasn’t any improvement. Until January 2021 when my brother John Obati through one of his friends got to hear about Dr Kishimba.

On informing our mother about the herbalist she couldn’t allow it, being staunch Christians to her this seemed more like witchcraft. My brother Obati and sister decided to contact the herbalist behind her back.

After a lengthy talk Dr Kishimba promised to send some herbs so I could get better to travel to Kisumu where he is based.

After a thorough cleaning using the herbs I felt like I had been woken from a long sleep. I was all set to travel the following day.

All I can say now the rest is history. I’m totally fine and back to work. My family is also thriving all thanks to the help I got from Dr Kishimba. I’m forever grateful to my siblings for making that though call it changed my life.
