Bahati regrets joining politics in 2022 which he says cost him a lot of opportunities.
The singer revealed that he was to feature in the season two of Netflix reality show ‘Young, Famous and African’.
Speaking to vloggers, Bahati said he couldn’t feature in the Netflix documentary because of political engagements.
The singer contested for the Mathare Parliamentary seat in the August 9, 2022 General Election but finished a distant third.
He noted that the election coincided with the shooting of ‘Young, Famous and African’.
“I was supposed to be on the second season of ‘Young, Famous and African’. We went through the run and everything. They wanted me to shoot between July and August. It was election time,” Bahati said.
“That was one of the things I missed. God’s timing is the best,” he added.
Bahati also disclosed that he had to terminate all endorsements deals with various corporates to focus on politics.
“When I knew I was getting into politics, I personally called every client and requested to step down. I told them to allow me to step down during the campaign season. I stepped down from many clients.
“I can say thank you to the fans and thank you to God that my numbers were so big after politics. I had attracted a lot of attention,” Bahati disclosed.
