Socialite Zari Hassan has finally addressed claims that her current husband Shakib Lutaaya used to work for her ex-husband the late Ivan Semwanga as a watchman at his residence.
Rumors about that emerged after photos of Shakib and Ivan were shared online.
Speaking to the Ugandan media on Thursday, Zari sets the record straight, saying that Shakib has never been her ex-husband’s employee.
“We need to address this. I’ve seen [people saying] that Shakib used to be our gateman, he used to work for Ivan. To set the record straight, Shakib has never worked for Ivan,” the mother of five said as quoted by Pulse Uganda.
She added that the photos were taken while the two were hanging out together
Shakib on the other hand said that people have the right to say whatever they want.
“Everyone is free to say what they want. You can’t stop them,” he said adding that, “I know the truth. She also knows the truth.”
At the same time, Zari said that Shakib is the only man who officially married her.
“You’re the guy. My husband. He is the first to give me a wedding ring and tell me, I want you to be my wife. I don’t even know how you did that. Ssemwanga introduced me. It was public knowledge, he introduced me but we didn’t get married. Rest His Soul in Peace; He was a great person. But Lutaaya is the first to give me a wedding ring,” the socialite said.
