Prezzo has reignited his criticism of Kasmuel McOure, accusing him of being a clout chaser, following the activist’s recent stance on the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In a pointed comment, Prezzo claimed that Kasmuel , once a vocal critic of poor governance, had been “bribed by the government” to support the impeachment motion against Gachagua.
“I gave my opinion, mkaniponda mawe (you criticized me). Now, look at your so-called savior betraying you after receiving perks from the likes of Zakayo (a reference to President Ruto). It’s life,” said Prezzo, reminding netizens of his earlier warnings about McOure’s intentions.
Before the impeachment plan against Gachagua gained momentum, Prezzo had expressed doubts about Kasmuel ’s motivations during the Gen Z protests, accusing the activist of seeking attention rather than pushing for genuine change.
“Anybody who’s paying attention will see through this guy. He’s just chasing clout,” said the legendary artist, known for his outspoken nature.
Kasmuel, however, dismissed Prezzo’s remarks, calling the singer a “forgotten” figure seeking relevance by criticizing him.
“What puts him on the map apart from a hit song released when I was two or three years old? The only reason Prezzo is being talked about now is because he mentions me,” Kasmuel responded.
The tension between the two figures reflects the broader political debate in Kenya.
Kasmuel’s call for Gachagua’s impeachment, while refraining from criticizing President William Ruto, has led to a significant backlash.
His stance at Bomas, where he declared “Gachagua must go,” but avoided calling for the president’s ouster, sparked outrage.
Many of his followers viewed it as a betrayal of the fight against government corruption, leading to a notable drop in his social media following.
