Comedian YY has gotten candid about his new relationship as well as his separation with Marya Okoth, whom they share a daughter.
Speaking to Ankali Ray, the comedian noted that he loves his new woman and that he is happy.
Asked on how long he has been together with the new girl, YY said, “That one does not matter, what matters is moving forward, it does not matter how long, it does not matter fast, it does not matter how slow results the aim results is more important so long as you finish well. What matters is the end product, I have no bad motive, ill intentions towards anybody.”
YY made it clear that he did not move on quickly to make Marya feel jealous.
“I have seen even seen people thinking maybe anafanya hivi ndio wale watu wengine…no, that is not the point, I am fairly intelligent and I think about things before doing them. Hii kitu haina motive yoyote, time will tell. I am that person who works well when I know I have a place to run to, I have a home to run to I have somebody at the back to cheers me up,” he said, adding that men usually look up to women for moral support, not money or anything else.
He denied that those are things he missed in his previous relationship.
“It is not good to say such things. My past relationship served a purpose which was very important into my life and my ex’s life,” he said.
At the same time, YY noted that before moving on, he had discussed with Marya on issues that affected their relationship to see whether they could be solved. The comedian noted that he already made peace with his baby mama so that he also doesn’t end up pouring his pain on his new woman and hurt her in the process.
“Some people delay their grieving periods. Mtu ukiskia uchungu unalia kidogo unajifanya.I have gone through a whole cycle. Kama niliskia uchungu, niliskia and I never pretended and my ex knows it. Marriage is difficult and separations too for both the dumpee and the dumper. It is not about the time you move on it is about how soon you accept. I have made peace with my past,” he said.
