Elgeyo-Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen had to plead his way out after he was mobbed by unruly youth who demanded handouts from him.
Murkomen who was accompanied by Elgeyo-Marakwet Women Representative Jane Chebaibai had a tough time with youth in Marakwet as they boarded a chopper.
The duo was trailed by youth on motorbike who chased after their car up to a school where the helicopter was waiting for them.
Tens of youth swarm around the Murkomen desperately begging him to give them money, the senator however kept pleading with them to allow him through.
Murkomen eventually managed to get to the chopper which had it’s doors open ready for them. He entered but the youth followed him preventing the door to be shut.
The senator pleaded with the youth telling them that he was very late and that he would return at a later date to give them the handout.
“We are already very late as we speak and we have another meeting that we have to attend in Baringo. I will create time so that I come and give you some money.” Murkomen pleaded.
The youth also implored their Women Representative Jane Chebaibai to give them money and she obliged just to send them off.
Chebaibai reached into her purse and pulled out some cash and dished to the youth who fought for it and in the process tearing some notes.
The youth dash from the chopper the moment they got the handouts and the pilot managed to shut all doors and started the engine.
The rotor blades were soon spinning fast to discourage any youth from approaching the helicopter and within a minute it was off the ground.
The ugly scramble for handout was caught in a video that was shared on social networking platforms. See the video below:
