Bien first hinted he was in an open marriage in June 2021, and in November blogger Edgar Obare revealed more intimate details after his wife Chiki ‘Kuruka’ Onwukwe reportedly slept with Makena Njeri.
Open marriage or relationship is one in which both partners agree that each or one may have sexual relations with other people.
In June, word went round that Bien and Chiki were in an open marriage after the singer made some remarks on the Sol Family show.
“Me and Chiki have this thing where if I ever meet my celebrity crush somewhere and I am in a situation where my celebrity crush wants to ‘engage in coitus’ with me, then so be it and vice versa.
“I don’t have a problem with it if that is what she wants, she should get it. You can’t stop a human being from doing that. But also I can’t catch feelings, I’m after her happiness,” Bien said.
However, Chiki cleared the air stating that the comments were taken out of context.
“Bien and I were cracking jokes on Sol Family, and that’s how a comment was interpreted. However, we both deeply agree with honesty and communication, even if that includes lusting over celebs,” she said.
The came November Njeri Makena and Michelle Ntalami breakup drama… Chiki was said to have slept with Makena Njeri.
Informants who leaked details of Chiki and Njeri’s alleged affair to blogger Edgar Obare said that Bien’s wife is bisexual and that her husband Bien was cool with that.
Informants told Obare that Chiki and her husband have a mutual understanding in their marriage that allows her to smash other women.
Chiki however came out to deny that she is bisexual or has ever slept with Njeri Makena. Bien’s wife said she decided to address the allegations not because her in-laws confronted her about it but because of netizens’ misguided perception about her sexuality.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha in November, Bien categorically stated that his wife and him don’t have an open marriage.
“Open relationship gani, mimi nko open minded, siko in an open relationship nko open minded,” said Bien.
He added that;
“Inaweza niuma by the way, naweza kufa nkiskia dem wangu ati msee alimkata… naweza die. Siko hapo ata mentally.”
However, Bien note that there was nothing wrong with open marriage/relationships. He said that he wouldn’t mind getting in such arrangement when his marriage runs low on intimacy.
“Nko mature enough kubelieve that manze you will never be everything to human being for the rest of your life. Open relationship haina ubaya. So mimi naambia wasee manze musikae kwa hizo relationship (closed relationship without intimacy), tafuta happiness yako uko nje. Ukifika 50 wewe na husband yako sex is the least of things in your relationship. Your relationship is about so many things it’s about the things you build together. Na mukifika 50 kama hamko kwa hio intimacy manze tafuta hio intimacy kwingine ukifika huko,” said Bien.
Bien once again reiterated that he is not in an open marriage while speaking during an interview on NTV on Friday December 17th.
“Guys I’m not in an open relationship. I’m not in an open marriage. I actually speak for people who are married because first of all, if you are not married don’t ever comment about my marriage because you don’t know how it feels,” he said.
Bien further stated that his relationship with Chiki goes beyond the energy of sex.
“My relationship with my wife is all about what we are building together in terms of our dynasty, what we are building together in terms of our generational wealth and what we are doing together to leave the world a better place,” Bien said.
