Willis Raburu’s Fat Salary At Citizen TV Makes Netizens Question Why He Quit His Job

Willis Raburu used to earn a six-figure salary at Citizen TV where he worked for 13 years.

The media personality announced his departure from RMS on Monday June 26, 2023, promising to say goodbye in all the shows he has been participating in.

“This week, I bid farewell to Royal Media Services, my home for 13 remarkable years. Thank you for the platform to break barriers, inspire change, and connect with all of you. Onward to new adventures!” Raburu tweeted.

The 10 over 10 show host extended warm gratitude to RMS and his colleagues.

“Am grateful to you who have worked with me in all these 13 years I have been in the media doing several different things. Am grateful to my colleagues, am grateful to the opportunity to come out and do whatever it is that I love,” he said.

“I have learnt a lot and I have experienced a lot and it has allowed me to grow in my mind in my appreciation of people, in my appreciation of things and even attitudes,” he continued to narrate his experience at RMS.

Raburu’s journey at RMS started in 2010, where he transited from an intern to a News reporter, and later a host of TruthMeter weekly show.

His influence escalated to the field of entertainment where he hosts highly-rated 10 over 10 show which airs every Friday.

Spending time in the entertainment arena gave him a platform to release a hit song ‘Kalale’ in 2021 in collaboration with some Genge artists.

At the time of leaving RMS, Raburu used to earn a gross salary of Ksh400,000 per month.

Many wondered by Raburu would leave RMS where he was paid the fat salary yet he is not going to another media house.

Some speculated that he could have been fired by RMS.
