Tirus Maina died while having s3x with his side chick in his car which slipped into a dam in Juja on Tuesday night January 17, 2023.
39-year-old Maina told his wife Margaret Kiiru that he had travelled to Kathiani in the neighbouring Machakos County to inspect a project.
Margaret told the press that she learnt of the news of her husband’s death from a friend who informed her that his motor vehicle had plunged into a dam in Juja area of Kiambu County.
“He left home on Tuesday morning as usual to go and inspect a project he had been awarded in Machakos. One of my friends who knows his vehicle is the one who informed me about the sad news. The friend told me that his vehicle had plunged into a river and it was being reported by various online platforms that he was in the company of another woman,” Margaret said.
She added that she last spoke to her husband at around 7pm and he told her that he had left Kathiani and was now in a business meeting in Juja.
His phone would later go off and efforts to call or text him were not successful, an unusual behaviour for the devoted father and husband.
Maina is said to have spent the evening with the yet-to-be identified woman, having fun inside his Nissan X-Trail next to the dam before tragedy struck around 9.30pm.
The two, believed to be lovers, are reported to have driven and parked at the edge of the dam at around 5pm.
The dam is situated along Kimbo-Kiganjo Road, about four kilometers off the Thika superhighway.
Eye witnesses said they had successfully managed to get out of the car that was submerging but drowned while attempting to swim to safety.
