Why Bwire Ndubi Was Not Discontinued From Sultana Series Because Of Illness

Jiffy pictures, led by Lulu Hassan and their actors and actresses joined the family of Bwire Ndubi for her burial in Kholera village,  Kakamega county

The team paid a heartfelt tribute for Ndubi who succumbed to cancer earlier this month, saying she was disciplined, talented and an invaluable member of the team.

“Her portrayal of Dida in our production Sultana left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of watching her perform. Winnie brought the character of Dida to life with a depth and authenticity that was truly remarkable. Her dedication to her craft was evident in every scene and every line and every moment she spend on set,” the film production firm said in the tribute that was read by Lulu.

Lulu further said that she discussed with the production manager about Bwire’s condition while shooting Sultana.

Lulu however allowed Dida to continue with her role in the popular TV series saying that it would have been inhuman to replace her.

“Lazima kazi iendelee. Atafanya tu. There is no way tutasema ati Winnie kwa ajili Winnie ni mgonjwa abaki kando tutafute mtu mwingine wa kumreplace. Hio ingekuwa si ubinadamu,” the news anchor said.

Lulu said it was not easy for Winnie as she would go for chemotherapy and return on set the same day.

“Lakini alikuwa ule mwanamke ambaye alikuwa amesema anaweza atafanya. Alipenda maisha alisema kwamba ataishi. Sisi tunapanga lakini Mungu anapanga yake,” she said as she comforted the bereaved family.
