Kiss FM presenter and comedian Oga Obinna has weighed in on the graduation of Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala as a police constable.
Obinna says he is not pleased at all with the news adding that the government could have given him a better role other than being a police officer.
“Kenya we can do better. I don’t celebrate the theory of this thing that Omanyala is now a police officer. Salary gap for police officers in Kenya is Kshs11, 000-Kshs57,000 depending on the level.
“Omanyala is now the fastest man in Africa, I think even in the world, he is slightly behind Usain Bolt then you decide to make him a police officer, really? You want to tell me there are no ambassadorial side hustles,” he said during the Kiss FM breakfast show.
According to him, Omanyala would have even been made the face of Kenya just like Eliud Kipchoge.
Obinna asked those in power to nominate Omanyala to a lucrative positions such as senatorial, MP or MCA.
“Which nonsense is this. I don’t entertain this. They could have given Omanyala a better position. Because he runs faster you make him a police officer…which nonsense is this. Give Omanyala something that is worth Omanyala name. That guy has made the country is proud,” the agitated presenter stated.
Omanyala is among the 2881 recruits who graduated on Tuesday as police constables.
