Kennedy Rapudo is denied access to his son despite paying Kshs30k upkeep, school fees and other requirements.
Rapudo is supposed to be with his son three days a week but that is not usually the case.
During an interview with Mungai Eve, the father of three narrated the hurdles of co-parenting with his son’s mother, saying that he was forced to take her to court.
According to him, the court granted him some days to spent with his son but the stubborn baby mama has been denying him the rights leading to what was witnessed recently during the boy’s birthday
“The court gave a verdict on the 1st of September this year and I was to have a custody of my son and remember my son’s birthday is on the 12th of September on the said date I went to school and I surprised him. I bought him a cake, some gifts for the children.. the mother showed up 40 minutes later.
“That same week was supposed to be my weekend with him. I have had him a driver and also bought him a car that picks him from home and drops him school. So I told the driver that once he drops him home, pick him up and bring him to my premises, the mother is aware,” a deeply hurt Rapudo opened up.
The baby mama refused to hand over the 8-year old because the next day was his birthday. Rapudo on the other hand had also prepared a birthday setup for him that went to waste.
The businessman revealed that he first sued the baby Mama in December last year after she ruined his reputation by claiming that he is a dead beat dad.
“She went to the Telegram blogger and spewed a lot of lies about me how I am a dead beat and this things the child grows up eventually. I would never want my son to grow up aone that I was never there to support him and that’s the reason why I took this matter to court so that I can have access to my son.
“When the verdict came, the udge said that I was supposed to pay for the school fees and school-related expenses and I was supposed to give her Kshs30,000 per month. She is supposed to pay her own rent, medical care, clothing and other things . When the judgement came out I did my part. On the next day, I took her vouchers worth Kshs30,000 and she refused to take them she said that she wanted cash. Days after that I send her Kshs30,000,” the businessman said.
Rapudo said that the mama declined to release the boy after finding out that he brings him to the house where he lives with Amber Ray.
“According to the email that was shared by her lawyer, she wants my son to come here under supervision, with a househelp. Already we have here three househelps, as far as I am concerned the house belongs to the wife, how am I supposed to convince my wife that my son is supposed to be here with another house help over the weekend.
Rapudo’s interview came after an expose by Edgar Obare, claiming that he was considering lodging a voluntary bankruptcy by claiming that he can’t pay the Kshs30,000 support for his son.
