Phillis Jepleting was a first year at Karatina University and was found dead at his boyfriend’s house.
On January 5, 2023, Ezra Kipkemei, the culprit inside the death of Karatina University student and first year comrade, Phillis Jepleting Jeruto, appeared in a Nakuru court.
The courtroom in Nakuru was informed on Thursday that the suspect Ezra Kipkemei Kemboi, had attempted suicide by wounding his hand.
The investigative officer, Police Constable David Kipkoros, claimed Mr Kemboi later sought medical attention at Kibwareng Health Clinic at Kibochoi in Nandi South.
“He was arrested a health facility in Nandi South where he had gone to seek treatment after he attempted to commit suicide,” the police officer reveals.
Chief Magistrate Isaac Orenge approved the police’s plea, ordering that the suspect be kept in police detention for 14 days until the investigation is completed.
Mr. Kipkemei is the prime suspect in the death of 19-year-old Phyllis Jepleting Jeruto, whose deteriorating body was discovered inside Mr Kipkemei’s residence in Naka estate, Nakuru County.
