Vanessa Mdee was told she sacrificed her career for a man who would not even marry her.
The Tanzanian songbird, who has two children with Nigerian-American actor-cum-singer Rotimi, paused her music career ever since he moved to the US.
Mdee, who was promoting Rotimi’s new project on her social media page, faced criticism from a fan known as Amydiasss.
The critic slammed Mdee over career choices.
“Girl, the fact that you quit your career to be this dude’s hype man, and he won’t even marry you, is heartbreaking for real. I hope you find your way back to what you love. You completely gave yourself up for him. Sigh,” Amydiasss said.
Vanessa responded to Amydiasss in a quick rejoinder.
“I will gladly support my husband and gladly raise our children and gladly stand for what I love. My Sister, life is not social media. P.S.: The royalty checks still coming in,” she said.
However, Amydiasss further claimed that Rotimi was even cheating on Vanessa Mdee.
“I know for a fact he cheats on you, and I feel so sorry for you. He doesn’t deserve you throwing your career away because he cheats in the most disrespectful way. And he’s not your husband. He’s not yet married you. I really hope you make out well in the end because you deserve so much better. He’s a sex addict and weirdo. You guys are playing perfect for social media,” the fan said.
Mdee didn’t respond further.
