Towards the 2017 General Elections, former IEBC boss Ezra Chiloba was very popular among Kenyans thanks to his youthful age and master of the English Language.
Ezra’s popularity among Kenyans did not last long following his sacking from the electoral body after a fallout with IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati.
After being fired, Ezra went off the public radar with reports claiming that he went to his rural home. After years without a job, things started getting better for Ezra in 2020 when he was awarded his government job after being fired from the IEBC.
In December last year, Ezra got his first appointment to the government post. Through a Gazette Notice, Chiloba was appointed to the board of Youth Enterprise Development Fund by the ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru.
He will sit on the board for three years where he will help ensure the youth get key roles in nation-building.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 5(2) of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund order 2007, the Cabinet Secretary for ICT Innovation and Youth Affairs appoints to be a member of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund Board, for three years,” the notice read in part.
Ten months after his first appointment to a government job, Chiloba was given another opportunity to serve the country under the Ministry of ICT.
On September 29, the former IEBC CEO was appointed the Communications Authority director-general.
The CAK chairman, Kembi Gitura, said that Chiloba will fill the vacancy left at the authority following the retirement o Francis Wangusi.
Chiloba will serve the position for a renewable period of three years
