Veteran news anchor Catherine Kasavuli has given information about her health and her medical journey.
Kasavuli, who continues to receive treatment at Kenyatta hospital after being diagnosed with cervical cancer, has admitted that the past month has not been easy for her.
The journalist, however, has given sincere thanks to his family, friends, colleagues, Catherine Kasavuli Foundation, doctors, netizens and strangers who have been of great help to her.
“I wish I could answer all your messages, I see them and I am very grateful. May God remember you,” she said on her Instagram page.
She added, “To the special people who have come forward to donate blood, may God bless you, increase your good spirits, fulfill the wishes of your heart. To those who contribute to my medical bill, I love you very much and may God bless you.”
Kasavuli pointed out that her battle with cancer has not been easy. However, she has expressed her belief that she will eventually emerge victorious. She has also encouraged other people who are struggling with the condition.
“It is not an easy journey but I believe in God’s faithfulness and his success. To anyone who is fighting the same battle – I love you, we will win, life is a beautiful thing and we will live to tell our stories,” she said.
The news about the illness of the KBC presenter came to public attention last week when a blood donation was made for her.
KBC Channel 1 also made a request for blood donation for Kasavuli through social media pages.
Kasavuli, 60, was the first female news anchor in Kenya and has worked in several popular local television stations including KBC, Citizen TV and KTN.
