On May 17, 2025, Jarajila MCA Noor Sheikh Farah was caught on camera storming a restaurant while wielding a knife.

In the CCTV footage that has widely circulated online, people could be seen scampering for safety, lest they become victims of the MCA who was visibly agitated.

Shortly after causing havoc, the MCA saluted several times and matched towards the entrance like an army officer, leaving those around in shock .

Following his actions, many believed that the MCA had mental issues. Others strongly criticized him for being a bad example and endangering lives of those present. Luckily, no one was hurt during the incident.

The MCA has however come out to clear the air saying his intentions were only meant to defend himself after being attacked by  by some people at the restaurant’s parking lot, who accused him of blocking them.

“A person came behind me and another one in front accusing me of blocking their way and at that moment there was a struggle,” he told the media.

The MCA has since apologised over his actions.

“I am now apologising on behalf of customers and on behalf of all the people in Garissa county. It was not in bad intention. I was only defending myself,” he explained.

A footage from the CCTV outside the restaurant shows the MCA fighting with the individuals before he fell. It is alleged that he picked the knife from a nearby vendor to pursue those he was arguing with.

Police commander in the area Samwel Boit said that investigations are underway and necessary action will be taken.

“I would like to urge members of public to disregard information that the MCA has been arrested. No arrest has been made. Investigation is at an advanced stage and soon we will take necessary action.I would like to urge the members of public to be calm and to live in cohesion and unity.
