Traders in Mukuru Kwa Njenga Slums are counting losses after a fire broke out on Sunday Night December 11, 2022.
Speaking to Kenya Reports, Getrude Ombiro , one of the business people affected by the fire, explained how she arrived at the stall only to be met with charred remains of some of the clothes she used to sell.
“I’m left with nothing. This December holiday I thought I’m going to harvest but this is what I have encountered,” Getrude Ombiro lamented.
The cause of the fire was yet to be established with early reports pointing at faulty electricity connection.
By the time of publishing this story, the fire had been contained.
Getrude is now seeking the help of well-wisher to help her get back on her foot as razing inferno gutted most of the clothes she used to sell.
