Times Samidoh’s Defiance Has Played Out As His Woes With NPS Deepen

His trouble started last month when he joined in ‘wantam’ chants against the government during a club performance.

A disciplinary action by the National Police Service saw Samwel Ndirangu Muchoki alias Samidoh get transferred from Nairobi to Gilgil’s Anti-stock Theft Police Unit. This was only the initial stage of the disciplinary process, with reports indicating that he would face further consequences once the investigations are concluded and his file forwarded  to the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja.

Amid all that, Samidoh jetted to the United Kingdom for a show. In a post that seemingly was a response to his transfer, he shared a photo while posing besides a police car in the United Kingdom. He accompanied the post with a quote by Thomas Jefferson that states;”When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.”

He later flew to the United States where he spend quality time with his family.

After Rigathi Gachagua’s ‘Hi Cousin’ recent viral slogan, Samidoh, together with his cousin Bernice Saroni, posed for a photo with T-shirts branded with ‘Hi Cousin’, joining other Kenyans who are riding with the slogan.

It has however emerged that he was supposed to report to his new works station on May 27, 2025 as his leave came to an end. Samidoh is now being sort for arrest after deserting his duty at Gilgil.

Apparently, efforts to trace his whereabouts have been futile. His salary has also been stopped with immediate effect.

This has turned out to be confusing because another letter from the police, dated April 25, 2025, indicates that Samidoh was granted permission to travel to US and was supposed to return on June 9, 2025.

“Travel clearance is hereby granted to the above-named officer to travel to the United States of America for a private visit. The officer will leave the Country on May 20, 2025 and travel back on June 9, 2025,” the letter states.

Samidoh however seems unbothered by the developments. In his latest social media post, he seemingly shed the police following the death of blogger and Teacher Albert Ojwang’ in the hands of the police.

Samidoh shared a photo while at the George Floyd Memorial park. Floyd is a black American who was suffocated to death by the police during arrest, sparking anger and protests across the world.

His post was accompanied by Abraham Lincoln’s quotes, stating, “Those who deny freedom to others deserve not to themselves.”

Samidoh is yet to directly address his woes with his employer but his social media activity is definitely speaking louder.
