The Alchemist has social media talking all about it because of alleged racism that was experienced the other day at their location.
The sought-after creative event space in Nairobi has been on the spot for the longest time for being so racist that it has become somewhat synonymous to people experiencing racism in Kenya.
A whistleblower by the Twitter handle of @murgormurgor took to social media to expose how blacks were treated rudely in Nairobi, in their own country by the security because of the color of their skins.
Apparently, there’s a secret passway that is exclusively available for only white and Indians and which black people are not allowed to enter through since it’s exclusively for white and Indian descent patrons.
“How will we ever beat racism if we are racist against our own selves. Last week when I went to Alchemist there was a line for white and Indian people separate from the blacks’. One black guy tried using the line akachujwa immediately. This is sad really,” Murgor captioned the viral video that he shared online.

The video above that Murgor shared went viral so much so that it brought about another clip that was shared by another patron who went for a visit in the same spot years back in 2018 and was treated the same way the blacks were treated recently.

Clearly, profiling hasn’t stopped over the years in the establishment and Kenyans on Twitter are sick and tired of the racism that goes on in that establishment with a lot of them vowing to never patronize the place ever again urging other Kenyans to stop patronizing them because of how they’re treating blacks in that establishment.
The Alchemist has Twitter talking about the establishment for over a day now since the story went viral.
Netizens are busy giving their own versions of how they were treated badly because of the color of their skin.
It’s quite sad because this is happening right inside an African country and nothing has been done in the years this has been happening.
The Alchemist is yet to release an official statement tackling this issue right here since it’s only a matter of time before it blows out of proportion and the [expletive] hits the fan.
