In a deeply emotional revelation, Brian Gatwiri has shared the heart-wrenching details surrounding the unexpected passing of his beloved sister, Tabitha Gatwiri.
Speaking to Jalang’o TV, he recounted the devastating moment he found her lifeless body and reflected on the special bond they shared as siblings.
Tabitha, who was the eldest of five children, held a cherished position in her family.
Brian described her as not only a sister but his best friend, emphasizing how they communicated daily.
“My name is Brian. Tabitha is our firstborn. Alipenda comedy from kitambo,” he revealed, sharing fond memories of her infectious laughter and love for comedy from a young age.
Her passion for the arts shone brightly, particularly in her pursuit of a Literature career at Kenyatta University.
The tragedy struck Brian on a seemingly ordinary day.
After spending an enjoyable evening with Tabitha, he was alarmed when she didn’t answer his calls the following day.
“She was very happy the night before. But the next day, I tried calling her, and she didn’t pick up. She wasn’t online, which was unusual for her,” he recounted, the pain evident in his voice.
Concerned for his sister’s well-being, Brian decided to visit her home after work.
When he arrived and found the door locked, he had no choice but to break in.
What he discovered next would forever alter the course of his life.
“I found her at around 5:40 pm. I called the police, my friends, and my parents.”
His brave efforts in that tragic moment are a testament to the deep love and concern he had for his sister.
The loss has been particularly challenging for their parents, especially their mother, who remains devastated over the sudden death of her daughter.
“It has been very hard on our family,” Brian shared, expressing how they are collectively grappling with this painful ordeal.
As the family seeks clarity regarding the cause of Tabitha’s untimely death, they are currently awaiting test results from the government chemist.
The initial autopsy yielded inconclusive results, leading to further samples being sent for analysis.
Brian expressed the uncertainty their family faces.
“The case is still under investigation because the postmortem samples were not conclusive. We are all waiting for answers,” he said.
“Several theories are being discussed, but right now we can’t say anything for certain. We just have to wait for the results,” he added, highlighting the emotional toll this uncertainty has taken on them.
In addition to sharing his grief, Brian also spoke about Tabitha’s personal life, noting that she was in a relationship with a boyfriend.
He indicated that the couple had plans for the future, but clarified that Tabitha was not married and did not have any children.
As the Gatwiri family continues to navigate this harrowing chapter, they are united in hope for answers and healing in the days to come following the sudden and tragic loss of Tabitha.
