A man has been arrested for allegedly poisoning food after processed meat, and microwaved goods were found injected with needled in stores in London.
Police officers were called on Wednesday evening following reports of a man abusing people in the street, according to a report by CNN.
The man is said to have injected foodstuff at three supermarkets with several needles, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The said person was arrested for allegedly contaminating foodstuff to harm or anxiety among the members of the public.
The three stores that the man reportedly contaminated food in have been closed, and crime scenes have been put in place.
Anyone who bought food at the supermarkets on Wednesday evening has been asked to throw the goods away for precautionary purposes.
According to CNN, the police believe that the products were affected by the injections.
“It is currently unknown as to how many items have been contaminated, or what with,” reads the statement as reported by the publication.
“Investigations are ongoing to establish if other businesses in the area are involved in the incident.”
