Popular female singer Vivianne Wambui Ndirangu has opened up on her struggles in the hands of her family since divorcing Sam West.
The Charm hitmaker said that her family frustrated her for leaving her marriage and her own sister is at the fore front.
“My family is in the pits. When I went through the divorce my sister called me mentally sick, my aunt came to harass me in my own house. When I attempted to come back home from the West my mum asked why should I?” she said.
She noted that her family’s actions could be influnced by a curse. She however vowed not remain silent and bow to their intimidation.
“I realized the trauma I have started from my upbringing. My bloodline has some serious curses and now a newer generation of young men is coming up in this same family line. The women on my Mum’s side are numb and cold; my sister leading the pack.I want them to know they can never silence me or break me. I will speak up for myself and my children. Suppression, fear, harassment, centredness ends here and now. Siwaogopi.#IamSHE,” she said.
Vivianne and Sam divorced in 2022. In an interview last year, the artist said among the reasons Sam dumped her was because she couldn’t meet his expectations.
“When it comes to relationships especially nowadays they are unpredictable. Some things stopped working in our relationship and that is why it broke. I think there was a lot of pent-up anger.”
“Nowadays it’s like we want to punish the other person because they are not what you want them to be.There was a lot of betrayals. There are some things he wanted from me and his patience run out.We were now getting into the next phase of our life,” she told Massawe Japanni.
