A 24-year-old woman named Grace Wangari lost her life in Kasarani, Nairobi, following a domestic dispute with her boyfriend Clinton Mwangi.
The tragic event happened on the night of Saturday, January 20, at Githurai 44.
Grace was a mother of two children.
Residents reported hearing distressing screams from the residence where Grace Wangari lived with her boyfriend.
Concerned neighbors rushed to the scene, discovering a horrifying scene of domestic violence.
Alarmed by the severity of the situation, they promptly called the police for assistance.
Upon arrival, the police rescued Wangari, who had sustained head injuries during the altercation. She was urgently transported to a local clinic before being transferred to Kiambu Level Five Hospital.
Despite medical efforts, Wangari was pronounced dead on arrival, having suffered excessive bleeding.
The alleged assailant, identified as Wangari’s boyfriend, was swiftly apprehended at the scene and subsequently booked at Kasarani police cells on charges of murder.
Reports suggest that the couple had been embroiled in a dispute stemming from domestic differences, ultimately escalating to a violent confrontation.
Wangari’s parents claim to have no knowledge of the boyfriend, raising questions about the nature of their relationship. As the police delve into the investigation, they are treating the case as a homicide.
This month, several women have lost lives unfortunately. They include Pastor Kanyari’s sister Starlet Wahu and Rita Waeni.
