Professor Hamo has denied being in a polygamous marriage with his first wife Zipporah and fellow comedian Jemutai whom he now refers to as mere baby mama.
The comedian only reunited with Jemutai in April 2021 after she publicly exposed him of being a deadbeat dad to their two children.
Jemutai came out in March 2020 to reveal that Prof Hamo was neglecting his fatherly duties to their two children.
Hamo and Jemutai sorted out their issues and the former stressed that his fans should refer her as his wife not baby mama.
“Have you sort out your issues with your baby mama?” A fan asked Hamo in a past Q&A session on Instagram.
Hamo responded by correcting the fan stressing that Jemutai is not just a mere ‘baby mama’ but his wife.
“She is not my baby mama, she is my wife,” said Hamo.
Fast forward to February 2022, Professor Hamo referred Jemutai as ‘a woman we are raising our children with’ while speaking during an interview with Tuko.
Hamo completely dismissed assumptions that Jemutai was his second wife.
“I have a wife, and then there is Jemutai, with whom I am raising our children,” said Professor Hamo.
The comedian also stated that he never doubted the paternity of his two children with Jemutai even though he forced her to undertake DNA test.
“I did a DNA test. In every relationship, when you get yourself in that situation, you are advised to do the test. It is something we had to go through together. I wanted to keep it private, but it ended up in the media,” said Hamo.
Chemutai on May 2021 announced the DNA results of her two children. According to her Instagram post, there was a 99.9 per cent match between her children and her counterpart Prof Hamo.
The DNA test on her two children was conducted at the Kenya Medical Research Institute after a request by Prof Hamo.
The two reached this decision following a heated exchange of words online after Jemutai accused Hamo of not taking care of his two children.
Through Churchill’s intervention, Prof Hamo agreed to pay the children’s school fees while they waited for the DNA results.
The comedian took full responsibility of his two children with Jemutai after the DNA test proved he fathered them. He also started referring Jemutai as his wife.
