Philip Murgor who is representing his nieces Stephanie and Cheryl Murgor in a suit against Ndichu brothers has strongly criticized Janet Mbugua’s estranged husband.
Eddie and Paul Ndichu are facing several counts of assault and malicious damage to property, according to charge sheet filed in court.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji on February 7th 2022 filed a suit against the twin brothers at the Kibera Law Courts.
However, the twin brothers were no show at the Kibera Law on February 8th when they were charged with five counts of assault and malicious damage to property.
On Wednesday March 9th 2022, only Paul showed up at the Kibera Law Courts for the hearing of their case. His brother Eddie was conspicuously missing.
The twin brothers were supposed to take a plea in the case of assault and malicious damage to property.
Taking a plea in law means making an official statement by a defendant in court as to whether they are guilty or innocent.
Eddie’s lawyer told the court that the defendant could not appear in court to take a plea because he did not get permission from his employer.
The outrageous revelation by Eddie’s lawyer rubbed Senior Counsel Philip Murgor the wrong way, he expressed utter shock at the statement.
SC Murgor said it was the first time in his entire law career that he had heard an accused person couldn’t show up in court because they did not get permission from their employer.
Paul took a plea. He pleaded not guilty to the offense and was released on a Ksh100,000 bail.
On the other hand, Eddie is set to take plea on March 21st.
