Kenya Reports can now reveal that the late senator Victor Prengei’s wife had just alighted from the car minutes before he was involved in a serious crash that claimed his life.
According to the Daily Nation, Senator Victor Prengei’s wife called Catherine was to travel home together with the husband but she opted to take another vehicle.
The two were returning from their Marioshoni farm in Eastern Mau and were heading to their Mercy Njeri home on the Nakuru-Kabarak highway but on stopping in Nakuru town, she boarded a separate vehicle.
“The two were together in Nakuru town, but his wife decided to go home earlier, leaving him behind. On arriving, someone called and informed her that he had been involved in an accident and that he had been taken to War Memorial Hospital,” said Daniel Kobei who spoke on behalf of the bereaved family.
Senator Victor Prengei was on Monday night at around 9.45 PM involved in a very fatal accident which saw his Toyota Landcruiser Prado badly damaged.
While breaking the unfortunate news to the public, this is how a police report read:
“It happened that the said motor vehicle was from Nakuru general direction heading towards Ravine general direction and on reaching the location of the accident, the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road to the right side as one faces Kiamunyi general direction, hit the wall and finally rested there.”
“As a result of the impact, the driver, one Victor Prengei sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Moi Memorial Hospital for treatment while undergoing treatment he succumbed to injuries.”
The late Senator Victor Prengei was mourned by a number of Kenyan leaders ranging from president Uhuru Kenyatta, Opposition leader Raila Odinga, deputy president William Samoie Ruto amongst many more. He was described as an as astitute politician who stood for the rights of the minority in the senate.
